Google Drive Sync 📁

Sync your SpudSuite data to Google Drive. Your notes go to your storage — we never see them.

Setting Up

  1. Open SpudSuite
  2. Go to Settings (⚙️ icon)
  3. Click Cloud Sync
  4. Select Google Drive
  5. Click Connect
  6. Sign in to your Google account
  7. Authorize SpudSuite (we only request app folder access)

Sync starts automatically once connected.

🔒 Privacy Note

SpudSuite uses Google's "App Data" folder. We can only access files we create — we cannot see your other Drive files.

What Gets Synced

Where is My Data?

SpudSuite stores data in Google Drive's hidden App Data folder. This folder is:

To see or manage this data, go to Google Drive Settings → "Manage Apps" → SpudSuite → "Options".

Sync Status

Check sync status in the app:

Click the sync icon to force a manual sync.

Multiple Devices

Use SpudSuite on as many devices as you want:

  1. Install SpudSuite on each device
  2. Connect the same Google account on each
  3. Your data syncs automatically across all devices

Disconnecting

To stop syncing:

  1. Go to Settings → Cloud Sync
  2. Click Disconnect

Your local data stays intact. Your cloud data stays in Google Drive.

To fully remove SpudSuite's access to your Google account:

  1. Go to Google Account Permissions
  2. Find SpudSuite
  3. Click "Remove Access"

Troubleshooting

Sync not working?

  1. Check your internet connection
  2. Try disconnecting and reconnecting Google Drive
  3. Make sure you have Google Drive storage space available

"Access denied" error?

This usually means the OAuth token expired. Disconnect and reconnect to refresh it.

Conflicts?

If you edit the same note on two devices before they sync, you'll see a conflict banner. Click it to choose which version to keep.

Slow sync?

First sync can take a minute if you have lots of notes. After that, only changes are synced (much faster).
